Inspiration gained from watching "How Writing Online Made me a Millionaire"

Start:

I have been searching the internet many times for ways to quickly increase website traffic, and the reason for this is simple: I want money, just like everyone else.

However, I now realize that I was wrong. I was wrong to focus on increasing traffic, writing about something interesting, or writing something based on what search users might be looking for. While it's not necessarily wrong to write articles based on what search engine users are looking for, most categories already have a lot of articles written by someone else, and it's difficult for you to write something new to stand out.

So, what this video emphasizes are niche markets. In other words, you shouldn't try to appeal to the masses but rather create something unique. But this doesn't mean that you should try to invent something in a challenging way, but rather record what you are currently doing and what you are most familiar with.

You don't have to be an expert in the field. If you are an expert, your articles may be obscure and difficult to understand because you have forgotten what it was like to be a beginner learning about the field. So it's okay, even if you are a beginner. Sometimes, it is precisely because you are a beginner, that you can record details so thoroughly.

Let me talk about what I have done so far:

I started my blog in July 2022.

www.livinginjapanasaforeigner.com

This website mainly records what I am doing - how to live in Japan.

While writing these articles, I don't have to force myself to come up with ideas because it's just what I've experienced.

But in reality, the return is not good.

I know that part of the reason may be because I am not a native English speaker, so the English I write come out strange. Another reason may be that I am not very good at using social media in English-speaking countries to expose myself, such as Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, etc. In short, another possibility is that I have written too little.

These reasons gather in my mind, and that's why I found the YouTube video today.

What am I planning to do next?

It's simple. First, stop trying to cheat, such as finding quick ways to increase traffic. Second, record in detail what I am doing every moment, such as what new Japanese words, grammar, or life skills I learned today. Third, update regularly on Twitter and Facebook.

And I need to remind myself constantly to not be in a hurry. Rome wasn't built in a day.
